Nick receives special award for outstanding fundraising.

A CHARITY fundraiser has received a special commendation from Cancer Research UK in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the cause.

Nick Smith, from Cardiff, was shortlisted in the charity's annual Flame of Hope Awards which acknowledge remarkable efforts in fundraising and volunteering made by people from all walks of life. He won a special commendation in the category, for showing exceptional dedication and ongoing support to Cancer Research UK by volunteering at every Race for Life event in Wales since 2007.

Katie Robbshaw, Cancer Research UK event manager for Wales, praised Nick after awarding him his Flame of Hope special commendation during the Race for Life event in Haverfordwest at the weekend.
