Newspaper Journalism . . . For Minorities, a 36-page booklet, encouranges minority students to consider a career in journalism. Sections in the booklet address the need for minority journalists, accompanied by a statistical analysis of minority presence in the Nation's newsrooms, provide information concerning job placement and salaries, and list additional sources of information. This general information is complemented by personal messages from 11 minority journalists who hold a variety of editorial and management positions on major U.S. dailies. Each message offers a personal insight into the challenge, rewards, and frustrations of a journalism career.
