DuBose Ausley, of Ausley & McMullen in Tallahassee received the MORES Torch Award, symbolizing respect for customs, character and tradition, from. Florida State University's Faculty Senate.

Charles B. Bennett of Foley & Lardner in Jacksonville presented a seminar on the Florida Lien and Bond Law to the Associated Builders and Contractors.

Joseph W. Pallot of Steel, Hector & Davis in Miami has been named to the firm's board of directors.

Frank M. Petosa of Seiden, Alder, Rothman, Petosa & Matthewman, P.A., in Boca Raton spoke on protecting elders from neglect and abuse in nursing homes and assisted living facilities and pursuing neglect and abuse claims at a meeting of the Caring Professionals for Seniors in Sunrise.

George F. Indest III of Unger, Swartwood, Indest & Acree in Orlando has been selected chair of the National Kidney Foundation's 2000 U.S. Transplant Games Florida Committee.

Bruce Blitman of Ft. Lauderdale presented "Mediation and Conflict Resolution in the Classroom to ninth grade students at Cooper City High School.

Robert R. Hendry of Hendry, Stoner, Sawicki & Brown in Orlando has been appointed to the University of Florida Levin College of Law International Programs Advisory Committee.

Philip Diamond of Carlton, Fields, Ward, Emmanuel, Smith & Cutler, P.A., in Orlando moderated the panel discussion, "Proving Your Case in Tax Court," on behalf of the Court Practice and Procedure Committee at the ABA Tax Section meeting in Atlanta.

Mark R. Eiglarsh of Robbins, Tunkey, Ross, Amsel, Raben & Waxman, P.A., in Miami has become president of the Biscayne Bay Kiwanis Club.

Larry Corman of Hodgson, Russ, Andrews, Woods & Goodyear, in Boca Raton has been reelected for a three-year term on the board of directors of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Inc.

Lawrence A. Saichek of Miami has been reappointed to the board of the Miami Design Preservation League. He will serve on the executive committee and the finance committee. He also will serve as general counsel to the League's Art Deco Weekend.

Michael S. Popok of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., in West Palm Beach has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County.

Myer Cohen of Florida Lawyers Assistance, Inc., presented "Internet Utilization for Lawyer Assistance Programs" and "Dealing with Discipline: LAP's, LOMAP, and Discipline Working Together," at the ABA's conference on attorney assistance programs. He also has been appointed to the Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs with responsibility for the southeast region.

Barry Nelson of Nelson & Associates, P.A., in Aventura spoke on estate planning. at the Florida Institute of CPA's 1999 Summer Vacation Cluster Conference in Lake Buena Vista. He presented "Current Trends and Traps in Estate Planning 1999-2000" at the 14th Annual Accounting Show in Ft. Lauderdale and "Asset Protection and Estate Planning--Why Not Have Both?" at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel annual meeting in Orlando.

Louis R. Battista of Krupnick, Campbell, Malone, Roselli, Buser, Slama, Hancock, McNelis, Liberman & McKee, P.A., in Ft. Lauderdale has been appointed to the Law Education Committee and the Speaker's Bureau subcommittee of the Broward County Bar Association.

Richard M. Leslie of Shutts & Bowen in Miami has been elected to the ABA House of Delegates and will serve as the delegate from the Dade County Bar Association. He has been appointed, to the ABA's Council of the Torts and Insurance Practice Section task force to study multidisciplinary practices.

Meredith Cohen of Orlando has been elected a director of the Florida Association of Professional Family Mediators.

Harold E. Kaplan of Coral Springs has been appointed to the board of directors of Temple Beth Torah, Tamarac Jewish Center.

G. Robertson Dilg of Gray, Harris & Robinson, P.A., in Orlando participated on a legal panel for the Florida Outdoor Advertising Association Board. He spoke on new laws and potential issues affecting the outdoor advertising community. He also presented this information to the employees of Eller Media.

Diane J. Geller of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., in Ft. Lauderdale has been appointed to the board of directors of the Florida Staffing Services Association.

Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., in Orlando received the Employees' Choice Award from Central Florida Family Magazine. The award recognizes the top 100 companies for working families.

Elizabeth Kretsedemas of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., in Orlando has been appointed to the We Care Crisis Center board of directors.

Michael T. Moore of Holland & Knight in Miami has been appointed board chair the Seventh District Coast Guard Foundation.

Rebecca Palmer of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., Orlando received the 1998-99 Outstanding Alumni Representative Award from the Stetson Lawyer's Association. She also has been appointed to the Citizen's Commission for Children.

David E. Cardwell of Holland & Knight in Orlando has become a fellow of the Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section of the ABA.

James A. Gale of Feldman, Gale & Weber, P.A., in Miami presented "Ethical Issues in Intellectual Property Matters" at The Florida Bar's "Fundamentals and Developments in Trademarks, Copyrights and Patents" seminar held in Miami.

John W. Perloff of Doumar, Allsworth, Curtis, Cross, Laystrom, Perloff, Voigt, Wachs & MacIver in Ft. Lauderdale spoke at the Mastering Real Estate Titles and Title Insurance in Florida seminar recently held in Miami.
