Newmark appointed to lease 655, 675 Third Ave by Durst.

The Durst Organization has appointed Newmark Real Estate Services exclusive leasing agent for 655 and 675 Third Avenue in Manhattan.

Barry Gosin, president, Arthur H. Lerner, vice chairman, Jeff Rosenblatt, executive director, Cory Abdo and Chris Prokop of Newmark Real Estate Services will direct the leasing effort for both buildings.

Known as the "Tams" building after one of its major tenants, the engineering firm of Tibbets, Abbett & McCarthy, 655 Third Avenue is a 30-story, 380,000-square-foot office tower on the southeast corner of 42nd Street. The building also houses WNEW Radio, Whittle Communications and a groundfloor Gap.

According to Gosin, approximately 35,000 square feet is currently available, including partial floors ranging from 700 to 6,500 square feet and 4,700-square-foot tower floors. The 32-story, 295,000-square-foot 675 Third Avenue occupies the northeast corner of 42nd Street and numbers the Apple Bank For Savings and Xerox Corporation among its prestigious tenant roster.

Approximately 45,000 square feet of space is currently available, including partial and full floors ranging from 4,800 to 16,000 square feet.

"In addition to a convenient, midtown location and competitive prices, both buildings offer prospective tenants an almost priceless amenity in this day and age--stable ownership," asserted Gosin. "Not only is the Durst family one of New York's oldest and largest ownership entities, it is also one of its most secure."

According to Gosin, both buildings are located just one block from Grand Central Station and feature 24-hour seven day access, round-the-clock security and windows that open.
