Newcomers to strengthen AWM; ENTERPRISE.

Advantage West Midlands has strengthened its board with the appointment of two newcomers. Angela Maxwell, left, aged 41, built Birmingham-based Fracino, the UK's only manufacturer of espresso and cappuccino coffee machines, from a pounds 400,000 turnover in 1995 to pounds 2 million.

Acuwomen, her latest enterprise, is billed as the UK's first company to bring an allwomen group of entrepreneurs under one roof. The hand-picked team of experts covers the areas of strategic development, sales and marketing, design, public relations and telemarketing. Clients include Coors Brewery, Talk Talk and the Probation Service.

Jas Bains, right, has a wealth of experience in local government roles and with housing associations, and has held a number of non-executive board positions in the charities and public sector.

Aged 44, from Solihull, he is chief executive of Ashram Housing Association, based in Tyseley, Birmingham.

Both take up three-year appointments and will be paid pounds 8,371 per year for two days per month.
