New woolly jumper... DUDLEY ZOO.

VISITORS to Dudley Zoological Gardens enjoyed close encounters of the furry kind thanks to the opening of a brand new enclosure.

Wallaby Walkthrough enabled visitors to walk among a ten-strong group of Bennetts wallabies plus two Western grey kangaroos.

Zoo chief executive, Peter

Suddock, said: "We always listen to what our customers want and their No.1 request was to get closer to the animals - hence Wallaby Walkthrough."

The half-acre enclosure at the popular attraction was designed and partially constructed by zoo staff at a cost of pounds 10,000.

It opened to its first visitors over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
