New tear-tape for cases and cartons.

New Tear-Tape for Cases and Cartons

Improved Rippatape, the self adhesive tape used to open cases and folding cartons, is now available from Payne Packaging Ltd.

Consumer pressures have been making tear-tapes a more popular way of getting into many different types of packkaging - it saves finger nails, looking for scissors or knives. Paynes have updated their product and its tamper-evidence is another pertinent property at this time.

Their new Rippatape has 50 percent stronger adhesion, we are assured, and the initial tack has been improved by the same figure. Its cohesive strength is up by a third and the sheer strength is doubled - all of which means it sticks better and faster to the board and is less likely to break.

Cartons incorporating Rippatape are quickly and easily converted into merchandising trays. Unlike perforations, the tape strengthens rather than weakens the pack. On individual packs accessed by such tape there is no risk of contamination or damage to the contents caused by knives or cutters, and no chance of the person opening the packs cutting him or herself either.

This tape is supplied in 15 to 50,000m traverse-wound rolls in red, clear or white. There are choices of width, thickness and tear-strength, and applicators to fit over corrugating equipment are supplied.
