New seminars to explore the role of clinical detoxification in combating serious illness.
Metagenics, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of science-based medical foods and nutraceuticals sold to health care practitioners worldwide, is offering a new seminar: "Environmental Toxins on the Attack." The seminar will explore the role of clinical detoxification in improving clinical outcomes in patients suffering from serious chronic diseases. It will take place in 24 cities throughout the United States from March 2008 through November 2008 and will be presented by renowned lecturer Robert Rakowski, D.C., C.C.N., clinic director of the Natural Medicine Center in Houston, Texas.Dr. Rakowski is a chiropractor, clinical nutritionist, kinesiologist, certified biological terrain instructor, and AFMCP graduate. In addition to running a busy practice, he has lectured nationally and internationally to health professionals on various health topics for over 15 years and has appeared on numerous television and radio programs as an expert in natural medicine. His patient base includes elite professional athletes, critically ill patients, and patients looking to get the most out of life.
Our toxic environment likely plays a role in many common, chronic conditions such as immune dysfunction, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, autism, and attention deficit disorder. Now more than ever, health care practitioners are obligated to consider environmental factors when addressing their patients' health care needs.
The seminars will provide
1. an introduction to epigenetics, an emerging science linking the environment to gene expression;
2. new protocols for natural, safe, and rapid detoxification;
3. nutritional strategies for removing heavy metals while simultaneously increasing antioxidant activity;
4. a discussion of the diabetes-toxin connection; and
5. the role of acid-alkaline balance in health and disease.
The seminars are open to all licensed health care practitioners and cost $149 (early bird) or $169 (regular). Continuing-education credits are available. Those interested in attending should contact Metagenics Educational Programs at (800) 692-9400 or visit online at www.metagenics.com/seminars.
