Enterprise security software provider Pointsec Mobile Technologies has announced the immediate availability of its Pointsec Media Encryption solution for removable media.

The new offering is intended to be used with storage devices such as removable hard disks, USB Flash memory cards and floppy disks. Pointsec Media Encryption secures the removable media and ensures that companies can uphold their IT security policies and storage devices can be used to boost productivity, according to Pointsec.

A spokesperson for Pointsec said that there are obvious practical advantages of removable storage and Pointsec Media Encryption reduces the associated risks.

No pricing details were revealed.
