New qualification for nursery boss.

A NORTH East nursery manager has added another string to her bow.

Emma Holtby runs the Clever Clogs Day Nursery in Bowburn, County Durham.

She recently completed a degree in early childhood and education, which she studied for alongside her day job, and she has also just been awarded Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).

This is excellent news for the nursery as EYPS is the highest level of qualification for working with pre-school children.

Emma said: "It's absolutely brilliant to have achieved this.

"It was a huge commitment to study in the evenings after work, especially as I was doing a degree at the same time as working towards EYPS.

"In total the process took three-and-a-half years, so it's a relief to have completed it."

She added: "I really enjoyed the professional challenge. It was incredibly motivating to be working towards a goal I wanted to achieve so much."

Clever Clogs nursery chain employs 71 staff.
