Dale McDoulett, a strategic ventures manager of Kaiser-Francis Oil of Tulsa, Okla., has replaced Patrick Sheridan as president of Madeleine Mines. Kaiser-Francis, wholly owned by George Kaiser, increased its share in Madeleine Mines to 32 per cent after purchasing a block of 1.4 million common shares from Sheridan. Madeleine Mines operates the Lac des Iles palladium-platinum operation north of Thunder Bay. It has been plagued by low metals prices and an on-going struggle with the provincial Ministry of the Environment. The company faces six charges under the Environmental Protection and Water Resources acts. The court case will be heard in Thunder Bay provincial offences court on Feb. 10.
