New post office to open in Hillfoots.

Byline: Staff reporter

A new post office will open in Dollar today (Wednesday).

The current post office in Station Road will be replaced by a new facility at the Paper Shop, 52 Bridge Street, in the village.

The service will be provided at a Post Office serving point in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till.

A Post Office spokesman said: "As with any other branch, robust security procedures are in place. Anyone handling Post Office transactions, including new staff, will be fully trained on all operational and service issues, including customer privacy to ensure they meet Post Office standards."

Post Office services will be available during the store's opening hours which are 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. Post office opening hours will increase by 10 hours a week under the new set-up.

Residents and small business customers will be able to access the wide range of Post Office and mails services, make online banking cash deposits, pay bills and order travel money.
