New networked Blu-ray player from Sony.
Sony Electronics (NYSE:SNE) today announced the introduction of its new BDP-N460 networked Blu-ray Disc Player, which offers users the ability to access streaming video through an Internet connection
The company said that the device is capable of playing DVDs and Blu-ray disks and can also stream video via premium and free selections from the BRAVIA Internet video platform and from other sources such as YouTube, Slacker and Netflix.
The BDP-N460 Blu-ray Disc/DVD/CD player delivers full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output, decodes the latest advanced audio codecs, and is BD-LIVE capable with a broadband internet connection and the purchase of external memory.
The model features an external port for local storage so users can add a USB flash storage device required for BD-LIVE content. A front USB port can be used to display digital photos.
MSRP for the BDP-N460 in the US will be around the USD250 mark.
