New leader in Ten To Follow.

FRANKIE DETTORI'S beaming smile after winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe was probably matched by Anthony Bailes, who now tops the Tote/Racing Post Ten To Follow overall competition, which is nearing its conclusion.

Marienbard's victory in Europe's end-of-season showpiece earned Bailes, from Peckham in South London, 66 points and gives him a 49-point lead over his nearest pursuer, the Newminster syndicate from Oxon.

His achievement is all the more remarkable as he only entered one line for the

competition, which ends on October 26.
