New labels promote safe, responsible herbal supplement use. (Industry News).

To help promote safe and responsible dietary supplement use, Pharmavite LLC, Northridge, CA, makers of Nature's Resource[R] herbal supplements, recently launched Herbal ABCs [TM], an educational effort that features extensive product and safety information directly on the product label. The information is provided on an easy-to-peel label that contains an in-depth, multi-page booklet filled with information about the herb. The booklet cites information from The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs, an American Botanical Council publication (ABC). Each herb label features information including, guidelines for safe and responsible use, potential interactions with prescription and over-the-counter drugs, notable research and links to more information at, the American Botanical Council's website and additional product and historical information, such as contraindications, pregnancy and lactation guidance and/or potential adverse effects.
