New hygienic pump.
The new 38mm Wilden PV4 stainless steel pump, which is EHDEG Doc.2 Doc.3 compliant and certified to 3A standard 44-03, can be configured to satisfy clean in place (CIP) requirements for the prevention of microbial contamination.
Supplied by AxFlow with the Pro-Flo V[TM] air distribution system, the Wilden PV4 is recommended for a wide range of food processing and pharmaceutical applications including dairy, vegetable, meat and fish products. All wetted components are manufactured from passivated 316 stainless steel and polished to Ra0.8_m.
Having a maximum flow rate of 3521/m and a maximum operating pressure of 8.6bar, the PV4 can pass solids that are up to 6.4mm in size and accommodate temperatures up to 88[degrees]C.
"This new pump is ideally suited to applications in the food processing industries where a gentle action is required," comments Peter Carfrae, AxFlow's manager for Wilden Pumps. "The deep liquid chamber design results in superior handling of delicate particulates and solids that tend to settle because there is a large gap between the clamped area of the diaphragm and the liquid chamber wall. Unlike other pumps, the product particles does not get wedged in this area, thus eliminating a factor that can cause product contamination."
