New high-flow PCTG for clear medical parts. (Keeping Up with Materials).

Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, Tenn., has introduced a new easymolding, clear, tough, and chemical-resistant copolyester for the medical industry. Eastar MN005 PCTG fills small, intricate parts and offers twice the flow of competitive copolyesters without sacrificing mechanical properties. It has a tensile strength at yield of 6700 psi, elongation of 5% at yield and 120% at break, no-break notched Izod impact at 73 F, and 1.2 ft-lb/in, notched Izod at -40 F. It also boasts an HI)T of 163 F at 66 psi, Vicat softening temperature of 181 F, UL 94V-2 flame rating, and haze value of 1%. Tel: (800) EASTMAN, www.eastman.com
