New heights reached at birthday celebration.
PEARL Hyde Community Primary School went to new heights to celebrate their 40th birthday.
All the children and staff went out onto the field for an aerial photo shoot to mark the occasion after having practice runs spelling out 'Pearl Hyde 40' in the playground.
A spokesman for the school, in Dorchester Way, Walsgrave, said: "It was really exciting for us all.
"On the day we discovered the best position for the aerial platform, provided by Clements Equipment Hire who are celebrating their 50th birthday, was on the school field.
"We are all really proud of the resulting photographs which will provide the children, their families and the staff of the school with a lasting memory.
along with huge thanks to Faye Short, one of the admin team, who bravely volunteered to take the aerial photographs for us.
"The biggest thanks though go to the wonderful children of our school; it really was a truly memorable occasion for all of us."
After the photograph was taken children and staff celebrated with fun bubble blowing, with 315 children creating a cloud of bubbles on the school field. A celebratory sports day was also on Saturday July 11 to finish off the school's 40th birthday year.
Paul Dixon, works manager at Clements Equipment Hire, said: "We were glad to be able to help Pearl Hyde School mark its 40th anniversary. All of the schoolchildren were really excited to see the cherry picker arrive and even chanted for it to go higher.
"It's nice that the children will now be able to have a lasting memory of the occasion and we are pleased to see the aerial photo was a success."
