New editorial advisory committee members needed.

The American Camp Association (ACA) is on the hunt for two new Camping Magazine Editorial Advisory Committee (EAC) members. EAC members review current needs of camp professionals, help to develop the magazine's editorial direction, and conduct a blind review (authors' names are removed) of feature-length manuscripts prior to publication. The EAC's recommendations are advisory only; final editorial decisions are made by the editor-in-chief with input from the committee, the national staff and, when appropriate, national leadership.

Potential EAC members should possess skills in writing and/or editing and a thorough understanding of the camp profession either as a practitioner or in a related field such as research. The committee represents a cross-section of the ACA membership, and ACA strives for a balance of gender, professional background, and geographic location.

The term for EAC members runs for three years (with an option for a second term of the same duration) and begins January 1, 2016.

If you would like to participate in shaping the future of Camping Magazine, please a-mail a letter of interest, a current vitae, and two recent writing samples to magazine@ACAcamps.org by November 1, 2015.
