New deal in the Bag for animators.

A CANADIAN animation studio plans to create 50 jobs after buying Brown Bag Films, the award-winning Dublin company behind Give Up Yer Aul Sins.

Under the deal with 9 Story Media Group, Brown Bag founders Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O'Connell will continue to run the company with their management team and the brand name will remain unchanged.

Mr Gaffney described the deal as "the next logical step" as Brown Bag seeks to grow audiences for its films, shows and co-productions.

Brown Bag was Oscarnominated for Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty and won three Emmys for Peter Rabbit.
