New corps commanders appointed in Quetta, Lahore and Mangla.

ISLAMABAD, April 17, 2010 (Balochistan Times): Massive postings, transfers have been ordered at high level in army while new corps commanders have been appointed in Quetta, Lahore and Mangla. Military sources while confirming the reports of postings and transfers have told Saturday that army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has issued these transfer orders as corps commanders of Lahore and Mangla will stand retired in first week of May on completion of their service tenure. Sources told Commander Southern command and corps Quetta Lt Gen Khalid Shamim Waeen had been appointed as chief of general staff in GHQ while Adjutant Gen Lt Gen Javed Zia had been inducted as corps commander Quetta and commander Southern command. Corps commander Lahore Lt Gen Ejaz Bakhshi will retire in the fist week of May on completion of his service tenure and in his place newly promoted Lt Gen Rashid Mehmood has been appointed as corps commander Lahore. Corps commander Mangla who will stand retired in the first week of May has been replaced by Lt Gen Muhammad Mustafa Khan who is at present serving in GHQ. Military sources told postings and transfers had been ordered of those officers who had been promoted from the rank of brigadier to Maj Gen. Maj Gen Asif who is performing his duties in ISI at present has been appointed as GOC Sialkot while GOC Panu Aaqil, Maj Gen Akhtar has been transferred and inducted as O & M in GHQ while Maj Gen Nasrullah Tahir Dogar will perform the duties as GOC Panu Aaqil. Maj. Gen Farrukh has been appointed as GOC of special services group of army. Maj Gen Rizwan Akhtar has been appointed as GOC South Waziristan, Maj Gen Ghayur as GOC North Waziristan agency and Maj Gen Abid Hassan has been appointed as GOC, D.I.Khan respectively. Maj Gen Sajjad Ghani has been inducted as vice chief of general staff, Maj Gen Javed Iqbal as GOC Shangla and Maj Gen Allah Ditta has been posted in ISI.
