New conference draws Hay producers.

Nearly 200 producers from 25 states and Canada traveled to Overland Park, Kan., for the first Hay Business Conference & Expo sponsored by Hay & Forage Grower magazine. "The business of hay production and marketing often flies under the radar," said Ron Sorensen, publisher of the magazine. "This conference provided an opportunity for professional hay producers to network with one another and investigate new equipment and ideas." Conference presenters included a branch chief of the USDA, a diverse panel of farmer / marketers, university agronomists and economists, and representatives of consulting firms and marketing associations. In the Expo portion of the conference, 35 companies, from New Holland to ProAg Designs, displayed their products and services.
