New champion for central Christchurch.

The Central City Business Association in Christchurch has a new manager. Paul Lonsdale brings with him more than 25 years of proven retail and marketing management experience, and says his role as Central City manager will be an exciting new challenge. "The central city has so much to offer in terms of diversity in its retail offer, far more than any suburban shopping centre."

The Business Association has identified five key issues which need to be addressed to assist reinvigoration of the central city - security, cleaning, parking, standardising shopping hours and supporting the Council renovation project of the city mall.

Lonsdale says working on those issues will help bring people back into the central city.
