New car hire rules.

HOLIDAYMAKERS planning to hire cars abroad this summer should take note of new rulings.

From June 8, when the paper part of the UK licence will be abolished, drivers travelling overseas will need to log onto the DVLA's Share Driving Licence service to submit their driving licence number and national insurance number to generate a unique code (available for 72 hours).

New regulations |now apply to car hire abroad They will need to submit this to any car hire companies before collecting their vehicle or they may be refused car hire.
