New car from GAC unveiled in Kuwait.
The GA3, which is derived from the concept car which features in the upcoming Transformers 4 Movie, is the third model to be offered by GAC and its price starts at KD3,699 ($13,100).
The new model features a high performance fuel-efficient 1.6 DCVVT engine, and Japanese Aisin 5 speed automatic transmission (with a tiptronic option), and a chassis that was jointly developed with Porsche Engineering and utilizes a similar McPherson five-link rear suspension design.
In terms of standard safety features, the GA3 incorporates 6 SRS airbags (two frontal airbags, two side airbags, and two side curtain SRS airbags), Electronic Stability Program from BOSCH that detects loss of steering control and automatically applies the brakes to help stabilize the car), tire temperature and pressure monitoring system, rear seats equipped to fit universal child seats, and its passenger compartment is made of up to 95% high-strength steel for better protection in case of a collision.
It is equipped with a six-in-one active safety system which includes ABS, EBD, TCS, HBA, ESP, and HHC. Lastly, the GA3 also has a break override system (whereby if both the acceleration and brake pedals are applied, the brake takes precedence - bringing the car to a full stop).
Before the end of 2014, customers can expect the three new models to join the current lineup by GAC Motor, a company statement said.
The first is the GA3S, which comes equipped with a 1.3T engine and the latest 7-speed dual clutch transmission which represents a newest R&D achievement from the GAC Group. The second is the GA6, a forward-looking mid-size luxury sedan that embodies the trend of futuristic design and the philosophy of GAC Motor's products. The third is the GS3 which is an SUV similar to the GS5 but smaller in size.
Omar Alkazi, managing director of Mutawa Alkazi said: "With the introduction of the GA3 we are witnessing the gradual rise of the GAC brand in Kuwait as its product lineup begins to grow. The car has great potential, and we are certain that it will prove popular with our customers."
GAC Motor vehicles will be serviced at the Mutawa Alkazi Service Centre in Shuwaikh along with an offer of 11 years (or half a million km) warranty, three years (or 45,000 km) free servicing and a guaranteed buy back certificate to ensure the resale value of the car, the statement said.
GAC was established in 2007, and forms part of the GAC Group which mass produces cars for Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Fiat, and trucks for Hino. Hence, with the experience gained in building cars for international brands, GAC has succeeded in producing cars that directly compete with their Korean and Japanese counterparts. - TradeArabia News Service
