New brightness standards proposed.

NEW BRIGHTNESS STANDARDS PROPOSED Several new TAPPI Test Methods have been proposed in the Optical Properties subject category. Also proposed is a major revision of an existing method. (Full information on the new test methods is available in the TAPPI Association News section, which is in editions of this magazine for TAPPI and PIMA members). The purpose of this project is to address the confusion existing now throughout the world when brightness, whiteness, and color measurements are reported without clarification of what particular methods may have been used to determine results. For more information, contact Charles Bohanan at TAPPI by email at cbohanan@tappi.org, or by phone at +1 770 209 7276.
