New York press give Camilla a less than warm welcome.

THE Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall arrived in the US capital yesterday to take both lunch and dinner with President George Bush.

Camilla will be hoping for a slightly warmer reception in Washington after less than gushing reviews in the New York press.

Her American debut was marked in the New York Post with the headline Queen Camilla Is New York's Frump Tower while one article branded her a "fashion disaster".

Outside the White House a lone protester held a framed picture of Princess Diana and a banner reading "Queen Elizabeth Camilla is not welcome in the USA".

Lisa Hartwick, 46, originally from Edinburgh but now living in New York state, plans to protest at their every stop.

"This is Diana territory," she said
