New Websense Internet filtering product blocks banner ads and other non-work distractions.

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Employee Internet management solutions provider Websense Inc has released a new product that enables IT administrators to block banner ads and bandwidth-consuming web sites.

Premium Group I (PGI) is claimed to save up to 10% network bandwidth and can be installed into an organisation's existing Websense Enterprise software system.

As well as blocking banner advertisements, PGI prevents employees from using instant messaging, downloading freeware/software and visiting pay-to-surf sites and also blocks streaming stock quotes and limits day-trading of securities and investments.

PGI is currently only available to Websense Enterprise v4.2 customers, charged at an additional USD5 per user per year.
