New Sweet & Maxwell pub covers Sports Personal Injury.

Sweet & Maxwell (London), a unit of the Thomson Corp., will begin the publication of Sports Personal Injury: Law and Practice with an October issue. An annual subscription to the new monthly journal costs [pounds sterling]40.

Described as the first specialist publication on sports personal injury law, the new title covers all aspects of personal injury litigation in both the professional and amateur fields. Editorial covers the facts surrounding litigation brought to trial, the implications of instigating legal actions and its affect on non-immediate participants such as referees.

The journal includes information dealing with ongoing cases and covers such topics as: liability of clubs and participants, participants to spectators, organizers to spectators, covering bodies, manufacturers and designers and schools; negligent medical care; negligent coaching; criminal law; compensation for criminal injuries; sporting disciplinary hearings; challenging disciplinary rulings; drugs; and, insurance.

Sweet & Maxwell also publishes such related titles as Journal of Personal Injury Law and Kemp & Kemp: The Quantum of Damages.
