New Smiths film is a hit.

A VIDEO of fans singing karaoke versions of miserable songs by The Smiths has become a top art exhibit.

Fans in Bogota, Istanbul and Jakarta sing in the film, which has been made by Turner Prize finalist Philip Collins.

It is being exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art, where visitors can try to sing the songs as well.

Clips from the performances in each city run simultaneously, so viewers can wander from one room to the next, watching different performances of the same tune.

Among The Smiths most famous songs are The Queen Is Dead, Meat Is Murder and Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now.
