New Schlitz package offered for holidays

Schlitz and Schlitz Light beer have undergone a facelift in time for the holiday season. According to the Stroh Brewery Co., the brands' new outerwrap packing "looks good and is sure to attract plenty of attention from retailers and consumers well into the new year."

The updated 12- and 24-can cartons feature new graphics in red, white and blue. Close-up shots of the products' labels and droplets of water on the cans portray Schlitz and Schlitz Light's refreshing quality, a Stroh spokesperson reported.

"Schlitz and Schlitz Light could be the most fun package our consumers will open this holiday season," said Ed Kopecky, Schlitz brand director. "We expect the improved visibility of our new graphics will help further accelerate the double-digit sales growth we've experienced over the last two years."

Schlitz packaging had its last major overhaul in 1982, the same year the brands was acquired from Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co.
