New Rich ter scale of wealth.

WITH the India count of high net individuals growing by about 20 per cent annually for the last three years, a new set of status symbols has come to define membership in this niche group. Mail Today tells you what they are, because it's no longer just an iPad, jewelled watches or a 50 inch TV that establishes your standing and so- called rank in this category; there are a whole new set of status symbols to measure success and wealth.

A survey in the United Kingdom also highlighted some of the harder items to attain like a holiday home, a Ferrari and a cleaner and gardener but these seem to be commonplace acquisitions amongst our lot of desi rich and famous.

The Daily Mail quoted Andy Oldham, Managing director at cashback site Quidc , who commissioned the UK research stating, " There was a time when people judged success solely by your home and your job, but it seems there are many more modern items that help give a certain impression of you... Material items go such a long to showing that you are successful that it seems many are buying these status symbols, even if they can't really afford them." A study by Kotak Wealth and CRISIL Research called ' Top of the Pyramid' along with the UK study aids in an attempt to list out the many items in the Indian context that the aspirational lot invest in to prove they are a part of the select crowd.
