New Research Validates Importance of Central Lab to Overall Investigator Satisfaction.

Menlo Park, CA, July 26, 2013 --( Life Science Strategy Group (LSSG), a leading strategic consulting firm to the CRO industry, is pleased to announce the availability of its 2013 syndicated report on Clinical Trial Investigator Satisfaction & Central Laboratory Performance. This update to its landmark 2011 study validates the growing importance of the selection of a preferred central laboratory to overall clinical trial investigator satisfaction. Based on feedback from over 250 clinical trial investigators globally, Covance again ranks highest in investigator preference with more than twice the level of other central labs. Other preferred labs include Quintiles Central Laboratories and PPD Central Laboratory. Furthermore, the report uncovers some clear performance trends among the leading market players.

The market research was conducted as a follow up to track investigator satisfaction with clinical trial sponsors, alignment between sponsors' needs and the realities of running a clinical trial site, preferences for central laboratories, and the degree to which the central laboratory selected by the sponsor impacts an investigator's willingness to work with a sponsor on future clinical trials. According to Jon Meyer, Principal, Life Science Strategy Group, "This update to our 2011 study shows investigators have clear preferences for central laboratories and validates the increasing importance the central laboratory plays in investigators' overall satisfaction and willingness to work with that sponsor in the future (91%)."
