New Ragged Mountain owner plans overhaul.

A Utah developer has purchased Ragged Mountain Ski Area in Danbury and hired an international architecture firm to upgrade the ski slopes and golf course.

RMR-Pacific LLC, the Danbury ski area's new owner, said it plans to upgrade the ski slopes and golf course and expand the struggling resort with slopeside homes.

RMR-Pacific, an affiliate of the Salt Lake City developer Pacific Group, purchased Ragged Mountain from brothers Walter and AI Endriunas, who had owned the resort for nearly 20 years but faced the threat of foreclosure this spring after they defaulted on a $4.75 million loan.

RMR-Pacific said it is teaming up with Hart/Howerton, an international architecture firm, in the upgrade.
