New Penn Completes Restructuring of the Sales Department.

LEBANON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2002

New Penn Motor Express, Inc., a subsidiary of Roadway Corporation, (Nasdaq:ROAD) has completed the restructuring of its sales department with the appointment of David R. Iannone to the position of Vice President of Sales.

Iannone joins New Penn with over 25 years of entrepreneurial and less-than-truckload motor carrier industry experience including 12 years of sales management experience with other northeast regional motor carriers.

New Penn veterans, Thomas P. McDonald and Anthony S. Nicosia, were recently appointed to the newly created position of Regional Vice President of Sales. Local account managers will report to McDonald and Nicosia.

"Tom McDonald and Tony Nicosia have a combined 40 years of New Penn sales and sales management experience providing a rock-solid foundation to our sales management team and excellent direction to our staff of experienced account managers," added O'Kane.

As part of the restructure, nine New Penn account managers were promoted to Senior Account Executive. Those promoted include, John Bachman, George Bollinger, Nancy Burke, Thomas Hathaway, Russ Jones, John Kelley, Dominick McLavish, Timothy Riordan and William Sawdey.

"Our Senior Account Executives will be taking on sales responsibility for strategically important accounts and will assist the regional vice presidents in the development of our local account managers," noted O'Kane.
