New Nikon Binoculars.

Skygazers will be interested in two new binoculars introduced by Nikon Sports Optics. For the economy minded there are the 7 [yen] 50 Shoreline Porro-prism binoculars from the company's Action V line. Incorporating aspheric lenses and multilayer coatings, these glasses offer a 6.4[degree sign] field and 18-millimeter eye relief, which is sufficient for most eyeglass wearers. The suggested retail price for these 34-ounce binoculars is $170. At the other end of the price spectrum is the new 12 [yen] 50 SE pictured here, which joins 8 [yen] and 10 [yen] models in the Superior E series. According to Nikon, these center-focus glasses have an exceptionally flat, sharp image to the very edge of the 5[degree sign] field. The eye relief is 17.4 millimeters, and the rubber-coated magnesium- alloy body weighs 31.7 ounces. The suggested retail price is $1,300.
