Integrated circuit developer AMD (NYSE: AMD) has launched two new low-power mobile processors for use in thin and light notebooks.

The AMD Athlon 64 processor models 2800+ and 2700+ are capable of either 32-bit or 64-bit performance together with antivirus options. A spokesperson for the company said the processors can be used in a 32-bit environment and retained when a company switches to 64-bit computing.

Pricing starts at USD241 and USD209 for the 2800+ and 2700+ models respectively.
