NeuroControl Corrects and Replaces Information in "Who it helps" Section in Release Issued Jan. 5.

CLEVELAND--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 6, 1999--

In BW1141-1/5, (NEUROCONTROL) VOCARE Bladder System Receives FDA Approval released Jan. 5, the "Who it helps" section which appears below corrects and replaces that section from the release which ran on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Information has been corrected in the third and fourth sentences of this section, and a bullet has been added to the end of this section.

Who it helps

During the clinical trials, (29) people were implanted in the NeuroControl Corporation sponsored study. With FDA Approval, the implant could help thousands. The Company estimates that 2,500 people annually in the United States will benefit from the VOCARE Bladder System. People who have a spinal cord injury and are candidates for the device include people who:

-- are at least 16 years of age or skeletally mature,

-- have a clinically complete spinal cord lesion, and

-- have intact reflex bladder contractions, and

-- are neurologically stable.
