NeuroControl Corporation Names Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

CLEVELAND, May 30 /PRNewswire/ --

Joe Katzenstein has been named vice president of sales and marketing for NeuroControl Corporation, a marketer of medical implants designed to restore function to persons with paralysis. In this position, he will oversee all sales, customer service and marketing activities worldwide.

Previously, Katzenstein was director of sales for Accumetrics, a privately held company based in San Diego, where he managed 24 sales and clinical representatives throughout the United States to launch a new treatment modality in Interventional Cardiology. Before Accumectrics, Katzenstein was vice president of sales and marketing for Microvena Corporation in White Bear Lake, Minn.

"Joe will play a major role in NeuroControl's day-to day operation," said Donna Richardson, president and chief executive officer of NeuroControl Corporation. "His 16 years of experience will ensure NeuroControl's growth, especially in these important years of sales expansion and ramp up."

Katzenstein has an undergraduate degree in education from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. He has recently relocated from Minneapolis.

Headquartered in Cleveland, NeuroControl Corporation markets products that restore function to persons with paralysis. Products include the FREEHAND(R) System, an implant that restores hand function to people with quadriplegia. The FREEHAND System received FDA Approval in 1997 and more than 170 people have received the device worldwide. The VOCARE(TM) Bladder System restores bladder and bowel function in men and women with complete spinal cord injury. The VOCARE Bladder System received FDA Approval in early 1999 and more than 1,900 people have received the implant worldwide. The StIM(TM) System, a stroke rehabilitation device, was introduced in Europe in January 2000. It reduces painful shoulder subluxation (separation of the shoulder joint due to weak muscles after stroke), a common side effect of stroke. NeuroControl Corporation was founded in 1993.
