Network Inference Becomes Cerebra, Inc.; Name Change Reflects Increased Commercialization and Growing Brand Recognition.
The Cerebra name serves to reinforce the brand recognition built around the company's popular products. The Cerebra Server reasoning and querying platform, and the Cerebra Construct visual modeler are enabling users to build highly flexible and adaptive hierarchy management systems for applications such as configuration management, product costing and pricing and financial reporting.
"Our influence has expanded beyond the research community as we assume a leadership role in applying the technology to common business challenges," said John Kelly, CEO of Cerebra. "We have signed partnership agreements with half a dozen new commercial consulting firms in the past couple of months alone, and for the most part, they are coming to us. Increasingly, our new customers are large commercial organizations, and we are implementing repeatable solutions to common problems."
According to Vickie Farrell, VP of Marketing at Cerebra, "Interest in semantics and in our company is growing. Industry conferences, customers, partners and media increasingly come to us when they think of semantic technology. Cerebra reinforces our established brand and reflects our value to a broader audience."
The expanded Cerebra website reflects the growing commercial successes of the company, while also strengthening its position as a thought leader in the semantic technologies that underpin the Cerebra products. A new area, Inner Circle, provides education and discussion about semantics drawn from the leaders in the field, including Ian Horrocks, Cerebra Chief Scientist and recipient of the British Computer Society 2005 Microsoft-sponsored Roger Needham Award. The site also features papers, publications and a regular blog from Cerebra VP of Technology, Jeff Pollock.
