Netlist unveils EXPRESSvault PCI Express backup and recovery solution.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-March 15, 2011-Netlist unveils EXPRESSvault PCI Express backup and recovery solution(C)1994-2011 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Memory subsystems manufacturer Netlist Inc (Nasdaq:NLST) announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its data protection product line with EXPRESSvault, a PCI Express backup and recovery solution for cache data protection.

The company said that the product combines the memory performance of DRAM and non-volatility of flash to deliver the high data throughput required by cache backup applications.

The solution leverages the company's NVvault (formerly known as NetVault) flash backup subsystem controller to provide reliable backup and recovery while reducing the expense, maintenance and performance degradation associated with battery backup schemes.

EXPRESSvault is suitable for applications requiring backup of cache data or state information such as storage virtualisation, RAID storage and journaling applications requiring fast data preservation and recovery following power failures or system faults.

Netlist is now sampling EXPRESSvault which includes a PCIe (x8 lane) adapter card with power module unit and a Linux reference driver. The product is priced at USD299 in 5k unit volumes.
