NetPro pioneers NLM management with Config Central for NetWare.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 1996--NetPro Computing Inc. announced their premium NLM management tool Config Central for NetWare 1.0.

The product, available October 1996, is currently in beta and can be downloaded from NetPro's website www.netpro.com. The product will support NetWare 3.12 and 4.1 environments, including Green River, and is designed to simplify the time-consuming task of managing NLMs.

Config Central saves time by centralizing control and automating distribution and snaps into Novell's Managewise and NWAdmin. Previously, managing NLMs was performed by manually intensive server-by-server operations.

Config Central for NetWare produces three major benefits for LAN administrators. It helps minimize the time spent managing NLMs, permits faster NLM troubleshooting and helps produce a more consistently configured network, less prone to everyone's enemy, network downtime.

Config Central enables administrators to compare servers against standards referred to as 'configuration references.' Problem or unexpected NLMs are highlighted and can be updated with a couple of clicks, all from a central location. Also, NCF files can be edited remotely and full reporting capabilities are available.

A recent survey of NetPro customers found that they consume as many as 10 hours a week or more identifying and correcting unexpected or problem NLMs. According to Joanne Carthey, president and chief executive officer, NetPro Computing, "NetPro likes to make heroes of our customers. Automating manual procedures to save them time is one of the ways NetPro accomplishes this goal."

NetPro Computing is positioning Config Central for NetWare as a premium solution within the configuration maintenance category. It will be backed with the same product and service excellence that have become NetPro trademarks.

Network professionals can download a beta version of Config Central for NetWare 1.0 from the NetPro website at http://www.netpro.com. Questions can be referred to NetPro's sales team at 800/998-5090 or by fax at 602/941-3610. Config Central for NetWare is licensed per server. A 10-server starter pack is available for $499. Volume pricing is available.

Config Central is developed and marketed by NetPro Computing Inc., a leading third-party developer and publisher of network utility software including virus protection and administrator utilities for enterprise networks. Established in 1991, NetPro Computing Inc. distributes products worldwide from its Scottsdale headquarters.

NetPro was named 1996 Best Software Vendor of the Year by the NetWare Users International (NUI) organization in Europe and was recipient of 1995 Software Company of the Year by the Arizona Software Association.
