Net gain in blogging.

MORE than a quarter of internet users in the UK now write an on-line blog, researchers said today.

And more than half of those who choose to write a blog - an on-line journal with entries updated frequently - opt to make it available in the form of a public diary, research by social networking site MSN Spaces showed.

Topics covered include everything from fashion and technology to sports and music, with 27 per cent of UK internet users now writing a blog and 59 per cent sharing it with the public.

Yorkshire was found to be the "blogging capital" of the UK, with more than a third (35 per cent) of internet users.
