NeoAccel Delivers New Level of Network Access Control.

NAM-Plus Gatekeeper Extends NAC to True Application Access Control

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- NeoAccel, the emerging leader in secure network access solutions, today announced its NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 network access control appliance, which is the first to deliver true application-level access control. NAM-Plus extends its existing policy-driven endpoint security checks, allowing IT managers to not only audit user devices based on the presence of updated operating system and security software updates and settings, but to actually control whether or not individual user devices are allowed to run any application while connected to the enterprise network.

While other NAC solutions promise application-level control by using packet filtering to block traffic based on ports and protocols, NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 extends its policies to configure whitelists and blacklists of true applications allowed on corporate networks. NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 makes it easy to block unauthorized launching of applications such as Internet messaging, bandwidth-consuming multi-player online games, and office applications that could be a potential security or productivity risk to the enterprise.

"NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0's application access control represents a new step forward for NAC solutions," said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst with Infonetics Research. "Combined with their SSL VPN-Plus, NeoAccel offers enterprises a compelling internal and external secure access solution."

NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 offers drop-in and low-cost deployment because of its compatibility with existing network infrastructure products - no need for new infrastructure. NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 supports any 802.1x-compliant LAN switch or wireless access point, to provide control for both wired and wireless users. NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 also integrates with existing authentication servers but includes RADIUS, LDAP and certificate authority servers for deployments without existing authentication infrastructure. Host integrity is done by exhaustive endpoint security checks of hundreds of pre-defined checks for updated operating system and security software, software settings and more. Additional checks are easily configurable. Upon passing all policies, users are then granted granular access to networks and resources.

"NAM-Plus Gatekeeper has significantly reduced internal network access and security breaches without requiring major changes to our infrastructure," said Prabakar Narayan of Cyber Professionals, an IT solutions provider. "The new level of application control offered in version 2.0 allows us to easily segment wired, wireless and guest users within our network and prevent the use of unauthorized applications that were previously circumvented."

NAM-Plus Gatekeeper 2.0 works with any VPN solution, including NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus. By combining NAM-Plus Gatekeeper and SSL-VPN Plus, enterprises have a comprehensive, unified solution that works closely together to secure everything - both the internal (LAN) and external (remote) network perimeters.

"Network access control will be a huge market, and our SSL VPN customers have asked for a NAC product from us that extended beyond current solutions," said Michel Susai, chairman and CEO of Neo Accel. "Just as our SSL VPN-Plus product has shaken up the market by competing successfully against products from the largest network equipment makers, we believe that our NAM-Plus Gatekeeper solution will become an important player in this new market while providing our customers with a complete solution for both inside and outside of the LAN."

NAM-Plus Gatekeeper version 2.0 will be available before the end of Q1. It will also be demonstrated in NeoAccel's booth number 425 at the RSA Conference 2007 in San Francisco, February 6-8.

About NeoAccel

With the vision to "Secure Everything[TM]" through secure access from anywhere to anything, NeoAccel is delivering a breakthrough in simplified, full-access SSL VPN solutions. NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus[TM] enables more businesses to implement highly secure, scalable access with the native network performance of IPsec VPNs. NeoAccel was founded by Michel Susai, the founder and former chairman and CEO of NetScaler, where he invented and pioneered the patented Request Switching technology that accelerates application delivery to handle the bulk of today's commercial Internet Web traffic. Powered by the company's patent-pending Intelligent Connection Acceleration Architecture[TM] (ICAA[TM]) technology, NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus software platform overcomes the limitations that compel network managers and users to resort to cumbersome or insecure workarounds when faced with using conventional performance-limited remote access. NeoAccel's newest network access control product, NAM-Plus[TM], enables intelligent, corporate LAN infrastructures to identify users and their devices, endpoint security audits, and grant access to specific destinations, resources, and applications based on corporate security policies. NeoAccel is headquartered in Silicon Valley. Contact NeoAccel at www.neoaccel.com or info@neoaccel.com.
