Nelson named 'Most Promising Rookie Salesperson of the Year'.
James P. Nelson, of Massey Knakal Realty Services, is the winner of the Real Estate Board's "Most Promising Rookie Salesperson of the Year" Award. The prize, presented at the Board's March 11 luncheon, recognizes professional accomplishment, demonstrated career potential, and community service by a sales person with five years or less in the industry.Nelson has been with Massey Knakal since he graduated from Colgate University in 1998, where he was a nationally ranked N.C.A.A. Division I swimmer and captain of the university's swimming team. In the past two years, he has been involved in more than 20 property sales, primarily in Chelsea and Greenwich Village, with an aggregate value of approximately $100 million.
Nelson has also been an adjunct professor at New York University's continuing education program, a panelist at Real Estate Board seminars, a member of the Chelsea Preservation and Planning Committee, and a volunteer at Louise Wise Services, a foster care agency in Harlem.
