Negative rake turning inserts.

The American Performance Series of inserts from American National Carbide, features negative rake turning inserts for use on modern CNC machines. Three universal grades and four chip control geometries are available for turning steel to cast iron. The AN3015 grade is based on a hard, cobalt enriched substrate with a thick CVD coating of TiCN, AL203, and TiN to provide resistance to the flank wear and plastic deformation and is best suited for finishing and light machining. For machining in unfavorable conditions, with low speed, high feeds and heavy depths of cut, the AN305 is the preferred grade with its tough substrate and multi-layered CDV coating.
