Nearly New Consignments open for business in Lancaster.
LANCASTER -- Out with the old, in with the new ... or nearly new.
A new consignment store, Nearly New Consignments, recently opened at 779 Main St., near the Post Office. Lori Silva and her family run the store, which offers a wide array of consigned pieces -- from antiques to furniture, toys to clothing, collectibles to tools, and handmade new baby clothes.
"Our goal is to provide quality items for our customers at fair market value to our consignors,'' Silva said.
A consignment store sells your items for you and shares in the profit, Silva explained.
"This saves the hassle of having yard sales or even strangers walking through your home,'' she said. Consignments are held for 60 days. If not sold, the owner can pick the items up.
"We accept antiques, jewelry, vintage tools, some electronics, toys, sports cards, trading cards and household items, like lamps, mirrors, pictures, glassware, sterling (silver) and other unique accessories,'' she said. "We may accept other rare items that we are sure will sell for you. All items must be in good condition, with no chips or breaks. They should be clean and/or polished, and no odors or smoke or animal damage.''
The store does not accept pet supplies, Tupperware, exercise equipment, personal care items, medical supplies, luggage, mattresses, linens and unsold garage sale items.
"We try to take furniture whenever space is possible,'' she added. "Furniture must be structurally sound, clean and free from pet damage.''
You must carry your own furniture into the store, so bring a friend.
