Neal on podium at Donnington; SPORTS SHORTS.

MOTORSPORT STOURBRIDGE speed merchant Matt Neal secured second place in race two of the British Touring Car Championships at Donnington.

Neal, 52, displayed real bravery to overtake the Subaru of Ashley Sutton on the outside of the first corner, writes Bradley Rice. It was a daring manoeuvre that provided great reward as Neal landed a spot on the podium at the weekend. "It was a really positive day, especially with the first podium of the season for myself and the team," said Neal.

Race one also brought success as Neal avoided the drama a first lap multi-car melee to claim a very creditable fourth place. It wasn't a flawless weekend as Neal technical issues saw him finish outside the top ten in the final race but he was satisfied to get the car over the line. "I was determined to bring the car home in one piece and score some vital manufacturer points to take to the next round at Thruxton," added the Black Country racer
