Nawwaf Mousawi: Adamant about proportionality.

NNA - We adamantly insist on electoral proportionality, Hezbollah parliamentarian Nawwaf Mousawi, told a party rally in the southern Lebanese village of Abbasiyyeh near Tyr today.

The deputy equated pro-Hariri Bloc's rejection of proportionality to their unbelief in pluralism. He accused them of anti-Hezbollah incitement amid clear attempts aimed at crossing out his party off the political map. Mousawi reminded pro-Hariris that his party qualifies as an integral part of an immutable National Covenant or Charter.

Marking Khomeini's accession to power 34 years ago, MP Mousawi diagnosed Lebanon's prime political ills as residing in the electoral majority system with National Covanent making clear provisions for continued party holding onto its arms.

Mousawi reiterated party rejection of any constitutional amendment advocated by the other camp and drew linkage between domestic liberties and fighting Israel as had been charted by Khomeini's revolution in Iran.
