Nautilus swimmers excel at CBSE cluster swimming meet.
Swimmers from the Nautilus Swimming Club, all of whom had topped their respective swimming races conducted by various Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in Oman, performed exceptionally well at the finals of the Oman clusters at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, in Bausher, on October 13.
Among the girls, K S Pooja finished first in 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 200m Individual Medley -- while among boys, K S Suraaj finished first 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, and 50m butterfly.
Oindrilla Sanyal won gold in 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 200m IM. She also won silver in 4X100m freestyle team relay. Shipra Shetty won gold in 50m breaststroke and silver in 200m IM and 50m backstroke. Her team won gold in both, 4x100 IM and 4x100 freestyle relays.
Vaishnavi Gujjar won five gold medals in 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 4X100m freestyle relay and 4X100m medley relay. Aditya Bose finished first in 200m freestyle. Aidaphi Uppal became an integral part of her school's 4X100 relay team which won gold.
All gold medal winners at the oman clusters swimming meet qualify to participate in the national finals to be subsequently held in New Delhi.
Nautilus Swimming Club had started its operations last September in partnership with Knowledge Gate International School. According to coach Samar Bose, the club has shown excellent results within a year due to professional coaching by an Olympic coaching team.
